The Elephant coast is located on the eastern seaboard of South Africa. It stretches along the Indian Ocean in the east, it borders with Mozambique in the north while the south-west lies on the Zululand. Extending inland across the Lubombo mountains and the famous Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, which is the oldest in Africa and home to the big 5.

4×4 driving is conducted at the Ndumo Game Reserve. This spot promises an authentic African experience with peace and space, as elephants roam around. The route is a self drive route graded 1-3 and covers a 62 mi/100 km, lasting between 2-4 hours.

There are various configuration options and the terrain consists of mud, sand, flood plains and corrugation on access roads. It is an all year round activity however during the summer it can get really hot.

Head south west towards Pelikaan Parade onto R619 turning right to merge onto N2 stay on N2 then take P237 on the right and continue to turn right on to R618 taking the 1st right on to Pelikaan street on to St. Lucia.

Head east towards Samora Machel st, taking the 1st left onto M4,then take exit 186 to merge with M41 toward N2, turn right onto P237 and continue right onto R618 taking the 1st right onto Pelikaan st onto St. Lucia

The main station to Elephant coast is in Durban. From Durban one can either arrange a transfer to the Elephant Coast or board on of the coaches to your designated destination in Elephant Coast.
