The Gulf of Roses is the most northeastern bay across the Catalan Coast. The Bay offers a 12 km / 7.5 mi long strip of beaches, encompassing four towns ( Castelló d'Empúries-Empuriabrava, Roses, Sant Pere Pescador and L'Escala).

Roses Gulf has the reputation of one of the most appropriate places for the experience of windsurfing and other water sports, so get ready to discover it. It is a place where many international windsurfing competitions take place.

So, if you want to have a windsurfing experience, there is no better place to visit. The most appropriate season to visit this spot is from April – September. During summer, the wind blows from 10/25 kms, whereas in winter, the Tramuntana (mistral) wind blows at 20/45 kms. The on-shore conditions with 3 m/9 ft shallow waters are perfect for some tricks. In the afternoon the wind turns to side-shore from the right reaching up to 6 bf/22 kn.

Thanks to its location and the right conditions this 7 km/4.5 mi sandy beach is visited by many windsurfing enthusiasts every year. Apart from the endless entertainment, the spot offers many impressive cultural sites to visit.
