Surfing in Torreira, Porto, Porto and North Portugal

Torreira is located in the north, near Porto, the second largest city in Portugal after Lisbon. Porto is one of the oldest European centers and registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. Although it's affected by the Atlantic ocean, the climate is semi- Mediterranean.

From September to April you can explore the big waves with swell sizes often around 6 ft/1.80 m but it can reach from 9 ft/2.75 m to 15 ft/ 4.55 m. At summer, the waves are more friendly to you with swell size around 4 ft/1.20 m. The wind is light enough for the sea to be glassy about 15% of the time and blows offshore 17%. In autumn, the wind blows offshore 41% of the time, at winter blows offshore 48% and at spring 35%.

The beach is appropriate for all kind of surfers. Take a surfboard and ride on the forward face of sloppy powerful beach break waves,  follow them right and left.
