Located on Thatcher Road, Rte 127A, Good harbor beach is a relatively small, sandy beach in Gloucester, suitable for all levels of experience.

It is an appealing location and can be an exciting place to spend your time. Good swell comes from the Southeast and East and it starts working at less than 1 m/3 ft and can reach up to more than 2.5 m/8 ft. Optimal tide position is low and mid tide and best wind direction comes from theĀ North, South, Southeast and Northeast. This is a great spot once the conditions are ideal with big waves during winter.

In summer, it is not a very crowded place and surfing is not allowed during business hours, but no restrictions off season. You should mind the rocks at the bottom.
