Great Arber (Großer Arber) is the highest peak of the Bohemian – Bavarian mountain ridge and reaches at an elevation of 1456 m/4777 ft height. The spot lies at 197 km/122 mi in the northeast of Munich. Geographically, it belongs to Bohemian Forest, so you might notice that people refer to it as ‘King of the Bavarian Forest’.

Snowboarding in Mt Cheeseman, Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand
Overall the city is surrounded by Avon, Heathcote and Waimakariri Rivers, and the Canterbury Plains. The climate is considered to be temperate, with cool and mild summers (maximum temperature 23°C/73.4°F), and cold and frosty winters (temperatures fall below 0°C/32°F frequently).
One of the closest family-friendly ski areas near Christchurch is Mt Cheeseman. It is situated near Craigieburn Forest Park (in the heart of Southern Alps) and is 90 min drive from Christchurch (99 km/61 mi). The site is open from late June to late September and offers a great destination for the lovers of snowboarding.
Although it is addressed mostly to intermediate level snowboarders, Mt Cheeseman has a lot to offer to the more adventurous boarders, who prefer untracked terrain and off-piste experiences. From Ridge T-Bar and Main T-Bar, you can enjoy more demanding trails. Enjoy the breathtaking alpine view!
