Fort Lauderdale's city is located on the southeast coast of Florida State, between Palm Beach and Miami. Commonly known as the "Venice of America" and being bordered by the Atlantic Ocean with numerous scenic inland waterways, this place is a paradise for visitors and home to many outdoor activities for all ages and skill levels.

Dania Beach is a beautiful natural beach with pristine white sand and is one of the least crowded beaches in Fort Lauderdale. With a line up of palm trees and sea oats as well as the John U. Lloyd Beach State Park, the spot is ideal for those who want to enjoy the great sunny weather and the turquoise waters of the ocean.

For those who are into skim boarding, Dania Beach is a perfect destination. Despite the fact that te area is located outside the tropics, it features a tropical rainforest climate with hot and humid summers with an average temperature of 86–90°F (30–32°C)  and warm and dry winters with an average temperature of  75–82°F (24–28°C).

The beach provides with lots of open space and soft sand with powerful and hollow waves especially during the hurricane season that begins from June until the end of November. The size of the swell starts working from 3 ft/1 m and holds up to 6 ft/2 m and more. The best wind direction is when coming from southwest, south and southeast.

Skim boarding in Dania Beach represents an endless fun activity, suitable for all skill levels. There are schools where you can book lessons if you are a beginner or brush up your skills. Shops are identified easily where you can buy, rent or repair your own gear. Skim boarders should be careful of rocks and when the tide is high, sharks may show up.
