Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida State, located on the banks of St. John's River and bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. With 300 days of long sunshine, a coastline of over 20 mi/32 km long, inter-coastal waterways and the largest urban park system in the country, Jacksonville is a paradise and a top destination for outdoor activities and holidays all year round.

Jacksonville has hot humid summers with light thunderstorms during the afternoon hours and mild freezes during winter. The overall temperature varies from 18 to 33°C (64 to 92°F) all year round.

Kona Skatepark is a legendary facility and the oldest concrete private skate-park in the States. Home to endless skate boarding events since it first opened its gates in the late ’70s, including the first professional vert ramp competition back in 1981, this place is a paradise for skaters of all ages and skill levels, all year round.

The skate-park has kept the original facilities and has added even more over the past 30 years. The facilities include a kidney pool that goes 10 ft/3 m down, a deep bowl with a 6” tombstone extension, a crazy snake run that drops at 100 ft/30 m perfect for slaloms, the Tombstone which is a 6 ft/1.8 m wall attached to a 12 ft/3.6 m deep bowl and a 15000 ft²/1393 m² of x-game style course with metal surface.

The park is open seven days a week and hosts a skate shop as well as gear rentals available. If you are a beginner or want to improve your style and skills, you can arrange lessons or be part of the summer skate camps. Kona skate-park has left its mark on the skate boarding world, having hosted major national and international events and competitions. For those who wish to know where all started from, this is the place to be.
