Safety Bay is a southern suburb of Perth and the ideal destination for a number of water-sports. It is very popular for the extreme sport fans, offering designated areas for windsurfing and kite-surfing. With a medium wind force, usually at 16-25 knots, the spot offers great sea breeze conditions from October to April. Safety Bay, as the name implies, is an appropriate spot for both the beginner and the experienced kiter, due to flat, shallow water.

In addition, the best wind direction is from the southwest, west. Furthermore, it is protected from tides and swells by the reefs. The launch area, which is large and sandy, is on the top of the pond. It is highly recommended to keep a distance from the turn nestling area. Last but not least, there are kite-surfing schools, training centers and shops at your disposal.
