The Turks and Caicos Islands lie in the Lucayan Archipelago and are a British Overseas Territory consisting of eight islands: West Caicos, Providenciales, East Caicos, South Caicos, North and Middle Caicos, Grand Turk and Saly Cay. With a wide open beach with sugar sand and amazing turquoise waters, this place is the perfect location for kite surfing. As it is an exposed beach/Pier break, it offers a regional classic wave quality with good frequency. The size of the swell starts working from 3 ft/1 m and can hold up to 12 ft/4 m and more, while the best wind direction is when coming from North, Northwest. On a good day, the offshore winds reach at 30 mph/48 kph and the waves tend to be short but fast and powerful.
Bradenton Beach is suitable for beginner and advanced kite surfers. During the summer season, the tropical storms affect the exposed shores of Anna Maria Island, providing perfect conditions for the advanced riders. However, the best season to kite surf in this spot is during winter. Kite surfers should be careful of piers, bathers and sharks.
