Dakhla, capital of the Moroccan region of Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira, is a city built on a narrow peninsula of the Atlantic Coast, at about 550km/341mi in the south of El Aaiun (Laayoune). It is located in the Western Sahara which is under the Morrocan control. Dakhla has a mild arid climate.
