Mornington Peninsula lies to the southeast of Melbourne, Victoria’s capital city. It is surrounded by Western Port to the east and Port Phillips to the west. There is a vast number of great surf sites and a plethora of excellent dive spots all along this section. Cape Schanck is located between Flinders and Gunna. The average depth here is at 15 m/49.2 ft and the maximum is at 28 m/91.9 ft.
Visibility is medium and varies from 5 m/16.4 ft to 10 m/32.8 ft. You are able to dive on either side of the cape but the western side is considered to be the best. It is a good dive site for novice and advanced divers alike. In addition, you will most likely encounter old wives, leather jackets, lobsters, large sweeps and small cat sharks. Finally, apart from scuba diving you can also explore the peninsula which is famous for the variety of beaches, the wineries and the mazes.

Lake Huron, the second largest of the Great Lakes and the third largest fresh water lake of the world, accommodates many shipwrecks. Large number of ships have sunk in the Straits of Mackinac, many of them not yet found. One of the shipwrecks that has been discovered is William Young.
