One of the most impressive and unique places in Greece, as well as an important geological phenomenon, is Meteora area. Located on the northwest side of Thessaly region, near Pindos Mountains and Pinios river, Meteora is a huge cluster of dark rocks, widely known for the seven orthodox monasteries, build on top of some of the rock pillars. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, these amazing limestone and granite pinnacles, attract visitors from all over the world especially during Spring and Autumn.
