Paros is one of the most beautiful islands of the Aegean and is located in the Cyclades island group, west of Naxos. Favored with endless beaches, the clearest blue waters, cosmopolitan towns and mountainous villages built with the famous Cycladic architecture, ancient churches and castles along with vibrant cultural activity, intense nightlife and ideal weather conditions for water sports, Paros is a worldwide destination for summer holidays.

Paros has typical Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers with an average temperature of 35°C/95°F and mild winters with an average temperature of  10°C/50°F. During the summer months, the strong Etesian winds, also called “Meltemi” winds, blow from northwest to north across the Aegean and make Punda Beach among the top ten kite boarding spots worldwide.

The sandy beach is located on the west part of the island, right opposite Antiparos island and it is fully organized with kite schools, beach bars and many more facilities. It is one of the most popular beaches on the island and attracts the water sports enthusiasts, as well as the party goers.

The sea is crystal clear with shallow waters and sandy bottom, while the steady side shore winds come from North, Northwest, range from 12 to 27 knots/22 to 50 kph and blow all day long. You can kite board on Punda Beach all year round, but the best season is certainly during summer, when the weather and the sea temperature are warm and you don’t need to wear a wet suit. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this incredibly vibrant beach, if you want to discover what summer on a Greek island is all about!!!
