BIO

"Abner Scoppetta"

I was born in São Paulo, Brazil and when one year I moved to São Vicente coast of São Paulo. I always liked to be in the water, my parents say that I started swimming first before walking, and swimming one of my favorite sports to this day, apart from swimming, I practiced other sports such as Capoeira, Football and Jiu Jitsu until 13 years when I met Bodyboarding.

Bodyboarding changed my life, everything was happening very naturally, when 14 years I gained a great event even as an amateur, Paulista circuit, and got significant support, as from the school where I studied, and after college, where I graduated in Marketing.

In 2005 I Professionalized in the sport, and I began to make remarkable travels following the national competitions, met South to the North of Brazil, through seven states, Santa Catarina, Parana, Sao Paulo, Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, Bahia and Pernambuco. Finishing as Top 10 National Ranking. In 2008 I began to follow the world tour, and I had the pleasure of meeting places like Chile, Portugal and Spain. Finishing among the top 32 of the World Tour.

I lost interest in competition due to the high cost and low reward, just not having the freedom of choice currently dedicating myself images, I launched a Bodyboarding video in 2011 with images of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro coast, Addiction Movie.

I’ve been exploring the radically sport image, presenting the best waves of Brazil and the world through the videos of my trips, I recently went to Mexico and Chile, in addition to training to improve performance, where you guys can follow through of my pages of Youtube, Facebook and Instagram.

INTERVIEW

What are you looking for to accomplish?

I want to help in the dissemination and development of the sport, I see that Bodyboarding still has a lot to be explored, and thus repay rather than the sport already given me.

"Abner Scoppetta"

What would be your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement wasn’t one of the titles I won in competition, but my healthy and simple lifestyle that I acquired, where always learned to have a focus to seek my goals.

What kind of difficulties does your sport’s performance involve?

I believe Bodyboarding when practiced at a high level becomes too dangerous, because we are involving rotational movements, impact and force of nature.

"Abner Scoppetta"

The rotation and the impact exist in most of the radical sports, but the difference that in most sports you land on a runway rather than a shallow coral or stone bench with a wave ready to swallow you, really is an incredible adrenaline, however injuries and scars are normal for us professional athletes, so the importance of making a strength work and stretching out of the water, to minimize the risks.

What makes you feel satisfied when performing your sport?

Undoubtedly be in tune with nature and the adrenaline it provides every barrier outdated brings me an immense personal satisfaction, a new maneuver performed, complete a hard tube, face increasing waves and heavier air and perform more technical and plasticity, these are some developments within the sport that make me feel happy, learn to identify the foresight to get the best conditions also are part of this process.

Where do you practice your techniques when being alone?

Surfing is what I like to do, and I believe that only practice makes perfect, surfing seeks the maximum of time possible, however I make a job out of the water also, through functional training, to strengthen, swimming, apnea, and I work in elastic bed to improve and correct the rotational movements.

What do you do during your training which is key to your success?

To want and know where you want to go is the key to success, it will make you focus and have enough energy (motivation) to get where you want, starting it you shall seek the restless way your goal with strategy, discipline, planning and a lot of persistence.

"Abner Scoppetta"

What are you most nervous about when competing?

When wave conditions are not good, or I do not find good waves in my heat, that’s what makes me most nervous, because I am just not having fun.

Who would you say is your biggest fan and why?
