Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's many apple cultivations.

Snowgrass Mountain is located in the Chiwaukum Mountains and provides with one of the best and uninterrupted views of the mountain ranges around. The top elevation of the summit is at 7993 ft/2436 m and is suitable for climbing, from spring through late fall.

In order to approach the South Ridge side of the mountain, you hike along the Icicle Trail and at the junction, take the right fork, which is the Frosty Pass Trail, leading you to the summit. Snowgrass Mountain is an easy rocky meadow climb, suitable for all skill levels, but a good physical condition is important. Once you reach the top, the view of the mountains and the lakes around is unbelievable.

The summit can be reached in one day, but for the most adventurous climbers, this climb can be combined with overnight camping in the wonderful Lake Mary campsite. If you visit South Ridge Route in early season, you will need an ice axe and crampons.
