Caloundra is located at 90 km/56 mi in the north of Brisbane and it is the southernmost resort on the Sunshine Coast. With several beautiful beaches and ideal weather conditions, Caloundra is definitely a great holiday destination.

Kings Beach Groyne or The Groyne is an exposed reef break that offers the right conditions for surfing and body-boarding. To reach the spot, park your car at Dingle Avenue and jump off the rocks. On this spot swell sizes start from 1 m/3 ft and holding up to 2 m/6 ft. Offshore winds blow from the west and the optimum swell direction is from the southeast.

The average water temperature is around 28°C/82.4°F in summer and around 20°C/68°F in winter. In addition, the best tide movement is rising tide and the ideal tide position is mid tide. The site is appropriate for more experienced body-boarders. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 6%, in autumn the wind blows at 17%, in winter at 29% and in spring at 11%.

Moreover, there is a variety of shops close to the spot, in case you need. Last but not least, apart from water-sports Caloundra provides with many attractions and leisure activities to enjoy and have fun. Note: be careful of sharks, rips, rocks and urchins.

Head northwest on George St toward Burnett Ln. Take the second left onto Ann St. Join Pacific Motorway/M3 via the ramp to Coronation Drive / Toowong Continue to follow the M3. Take the exit on the right towards Sunshine Coast. Join Boomerang St/M3 Continue to follow the M3. Take the exit toward Metroad 3/Sunshine Coast With controlled toll road. Enter the Airport Link toll M7. Take exit. Continue straight ahead. Slight right to Gympie Rd/A3. Continue on M3 (signs for Sunshine Coast / Nambour). Continue to Bruce Hwy/M1. Take exit Caloundra Road to enter the Caloundra Rd / State Route 6 to Steve Irwin Way / Tourist Drive 24/Caloundra/Landsborough. Continue to follow the Caloundra Rd. Go through 4 roundabouts. Continue to Bowman Rd. Continue to Bulcock St. Go through 3 roundabouts. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit towards Dingle Ave.
