Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's apple cultivations.

Lake Valhalla Trail is located on the Central Cascade Mountain, at the Wenatchee National Forest. It is 7.5 mi/12 km long (out and back), about six hours hike and has an elevation gain of 1700 ft/518 m.

The trail is open from December through early March and is suitable for all skill levels and ages. Lake Valhalla is tucked between Mc Causland and Lichenburg mountain and is quiet and isolated. The trail is easy and takes you through dark forests and lots of powder snow.

When you get to the lake, the alpine scenery is stunning. The path is safe from snowdrifts but always check the weather forecast before you choose this trail and don’t forget to take with you a map and a compass.
