Innsbruck is situated in the western Austria, on the broad valley right among high mountains (Hafelekar in the north, Patscherkofel and Serles in the south) and half way between Munich (Germany) and Verona (Italy). It is the capital city of the federal state of Tyrol in the Inn Valley on the joint with the Wipptal (Sill River) that provides admission to Brenner Pass, at approximately 30 km / 18.6 mi in the south of Innsbruck.

The area has got it all. Providing a flight height of 415 m/1362 ft, it offers a walk up and fly down take off along with soaring flight and XC in mountain possibilities and XC in flatland possibilities.
The orientation of the flight ranges from southwest to southeast. The take off site lies at an elevation of 532 m/1745 ft, while the landing site lies at an elevation of 117 m/383 ft. The best wind direction comes from the south and along with the thermals, it creates ideal flying conditions. The humidity ranges at about 87% and it is suggested to wear comfortable clothes made of cotton.
