Trinidad and Tobago is an island country that is situated just off the coast of northeastern Venezuela. Both Trinidad and Tobago islands surprise visitors with their unspoiled natural beauty that is not found in most of the other Caribbean islands. The climate here is classified as tropical with two seasons annually, the dry and rainy season and the winds are usually influenced by the northeast trade winds. Las Cuevas is an exposed beach-break that has very consistent surf. The swell size starts working at 1 m/3 ft and holds up to 2.5 m/8 ft. The spot provides left and right hand waves and it is suitable for all kind of surfers. The main wind direction is coming from the south and the ideal swell direction is coming from the north and the northeast.

In addition, waves have normal quality and the best tide movement is rising tides. At summer the wind blows offshore 87%, at autumn it blows 81%, at winter 93% and at spring 83%.
