Guardalavaca is a coastal town, located in the Holguin Province of Cuba. It is a popular tourist destination, due to its unspoilt landscape of unique beauty and pristine beaches with white sand and warm, turquoise waters. Playa Pesquero is a long, sandy beach, located close to Guardalavaca.

The location provides excellent conditions for a number of watersports, including windsurfing, scuba diving and kitesurfing. The best wind direction is from the northeast and winds usually blow between 10-12 knots/18.5-22.2 kph. The average water temperature is around 27 °C/80.6 °F in summer and around 24 °C/75.2 °F in winter. The windsurfing spot is suitable for intermediate and advanced practitioners.

Note that strong winds can provide big waves outside the bay. In addition, the ideal period to visit Playa Pesquero is from December to April. Finally, the area caters a number of museums for history lovers, cozy hotels and restaurants with great seafood and other delicious dishes.
