Caloundra is located at 90 km/56 mi in the north of Brisbane and it is the southernmost resort on the Sunshine Coast. With several beautiful beaches and ideal weather conditions, Caloundra is definitely a great holiday destination.

Kings beach is the most popular surf beach in Caloundra. Also, the foreshore area caters for a variety of facilities, including picnic tables and playgrounds for the kids. Kings beach is an exposed beach break that has reliable surf all year long. Offshore winds blow from the northwest and the ideal swell direction is from the south, southeast.

Here you are able to explore the waves with swell sizes from 1 m/3 ft and holding up to 4 m/12 ft. In addition, the best tide movement is rising and falling tides and the ideal tide position is all tides. The average water temperature is around 28°C/82.4°F in summer and around 20°C/68°F in winter. The spot is appropriate for both beginners and experienced surfers.

Keep in mind that it is a crowded spot, especially during weekends. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 7%, in autumn the wind blows at 9%, in winter at 14% and in spring at 9%.
