The Cortez Club established in 1995 and has become the core of Scuba Diving, Sport fishing, as well as water sports center in Baja California. With its operations based at La Concha Beach resort it expanded to the newly developed Costa Baja Marina & Resort and soon will be located at both Playa De La Paz and Maravia resort.
The owner of Cortez Club is James Curtiss who chose La Paz (the city of peace) for its totally unique qualities. In particular the Islands of Cerralvo and Espiritu Santo, the strong contrasts of desert meets sea, its appealing year round climate, its unspoilt and friendly inhabitants but most of all James recognized that the “pursuit of happiness” ultimately meant … La Paz, Mexico.
