Canyoning Enipeas Ι – Olympus, Pieria
/ Greece, Macedonia Region, Pieria

The Enipeas gorge has everything you would like to see and experience especially if you love nature and adventure, combining river trekking and canyoning! It is located on the eastern slopes of Mount Olympus in the area of Prionia at 1000m altitude, it is 6km in length and divided into three parts. Alongside the Enipeas gorge passes the most famous international trail E4.

We leave the cars at the monastery of St. Dionysius and after 10 minutes of hiking the trail we are at an altitude of 790m into the Enipeas gorge.

This Enipeas section is of moderate difficulty level and accessible even to young people aged 13 and over. It is generally open with lush vegetation and crystal clear waters the summer temperature of which does not exceed 5°C, forming natural pools and waterfalls.

In the middle of the route, the passage narrows and after downhilling for four hours, passing by beautiful waterslides, diving from a height into the vathres (small lakes) with crystal waters and 2 rappels of 12m and 15m, we return to our cars at an altitude of 670m (Altitude difference 120m) through the E4 trail after short hiking for about 1 hour.

The best time to visit the canyon is from June to August.

Canyoning Enipeas ΙΙ – Olympus, Pieria

The Enipeas gorge has everything you would like to see and experience especially if you love nature and adventure, combining river trekking and canyoning! It is located on the eastern slopes of Mount Olympus in the area of Prionia at 1000m altitude, it is 6km in length and divided into three parts. Alongside the Enipeas gorge passes the most famous international trail E4.

We leave the cars at the monastery of St. Dionysius and after 1 hour of hiking the E4 trail we arrive at the entrance of the II section of the gorge at an altitude of 620m.

The scenery here will fascinate you offering a natural environment of incredible beauty with magnificent high walls and rare rock formations, lush vegetation, water slides, swimming, diving from a height into the vathres (small lakes) with crystal clear waters and 3 rappels 5m to 40m! This section is of moderate difficulty level and young people aged 16 and over can participate.

Leaving behind this part and after descending for 5.30 – 6.00 hours, we hike for 1.30 hour on an easy trail to Milous (a tavern outside Litochoro village) at 470m altitude (Altitude difference 150m).

The best time to visit the canyon is from June to August.

We leave the cars at Milous (a tavern outside Litochoro village) and hike for 1.30 hours on the E4 trail, then enter the canyon at 470m altitude at the point where the Enipeas II ends. This section of moderate difficulty level is an ideal introduction to canyoning and accessible to people aged 14 and over. It is equally beautiful with lush vegetation, 7 rappels from 3m to 9m, swimming and enjoyable diving into the vathres (small lakes) with crystal clear waters.

In the end, after a downhill of 4.00 - 4.30 hours we reach Milous and the cars at an altitude of 300m (Altitude difference 170m).

The best time to visit the canyon is from June to August.

Canyoning Orlias Ι – Olympus, Pieria

The Orlias gorge is located in Dion Pieria, on the northern northeastern slopes of Olympus and is divided into three parts.

We leave the cars in the small chapel of Saints Constantine and Helen located at the 4th km of the forest road Dion - Koromilia. This is the starting point of the trail that leads up to the shelter Koromilia. We can leave the trail in several points and admire the beautiful waterfalls from far away.

Section I with gorge downhill duration 5.30 - 6.00 hours is considered of moderate difficulty level and is open to participants aged 15 and over.

Crossing the trail and after hiking for 1 hour and 35 minutes alongside the stream bank through impressive vegetation, we reach the entrance of the gorge at an altitude of 770m.

In this section we find six gorgeous rappels into the vathres (small lakes) with crystal clear waters, from 7m to 28m in a landscape of unparalleled beauty!

We enter the trail again at an altitude of 550m (Altitude difference 220m) and after 40 minutes hiking we are back in our cars.

Section II is of medium difficulty level and one of the most beautiful and entertaining at the same time in Greece with downhill duration 5.30 - 6.00 hours. Children aged 12 and over can participate in this section.

Here we find seven beautiful consecutive rappels from 8m to 30m, impressive water slides and diving from a height into the vathres (small lakes) with crystal clear waters! The breathtaking scenery and adrenaline blast will make your activity truly memorable!

We enter the trail again at an altitude of 320m (Altitude difference 230m) and after 15 minutes hiking we are back in our cars.

The best time to visit is from May to October.

After an amazing route lasting 2.30 to 3.30 hours with 3 rappels 3m, 7m and 9m respectively, water slides and diving into the vathres (small lakes) with crystal clear waters we reach the exit of the gorge and the cars.

The best time to visit is from May to October.
