Goa is one of the most visited and famous places in India since the 60's. Located on the West Coast of the country and fronted by the Arabian Sea, it boasts an amazing coastline with sandy beaches, as well as rich landscapes and tropical forests. Once a Portuguese colony, Goa is an interesting blend of cultures and architectures and is considered to be one of the hotspot destinations in the world for both party goers and spiritual seekers.

Morjim Beach is located on the bank of Chapora River, on the north coast of Goa and is the nesting area of the Olive ridley sea turtle, as well as home to many more birds and wild animals. The beach itself is wide and sandy, with shallow clear waters and attracts visitors that wish to relax, meditate and kite surf.

The climate in the area is tropical monsoon with hot and humid temperatures all year round. The monsoon season starts from early June and cools off the hot temperatures, while it lasts until late September. Kitesurfers visit the spot from February to May, when the winds build up, because of the upcoming rain season.

The thermal winds are coming from north, north west and usually kick in around 12 pm to 2 pm and last until late in the afternoon, reaching a speed of up to 12 kn/4 bf. Since kite surfing is only starting to develop in Goa and the beach is ideal for all skill level kiters, it is never crowded and you can play for as long as you like, anywhere you like, with your kite and the waves.

There is a school operating on the spot and provides gear rentals, as well as lessons and information. There are also places to eat and enjoy cold refreshing cocktails, restrooms, showers and parking.  So if you are just looking for a place to empty your mind and enjoy the clear waters of the Arabian Sea, then Morjim Beach is the place for you!!!
