Tampa is a big city located near Mexico Gulf, on the west coast of Florida. It is surrounded by two bodies of water that flow into the Gulf of Mexico, offering a subtropical climate, hot humid days during summer with frequent thunderstorms and light freezes during winter.

The city is very well organized in regard to activities and recreational parks. According to Forbes magazine, it is the 5th best outdoor city in the United States. Sunset Beach is located in the southern end of  Treasure Island and features white soft sand and incredible sunsets.

Ideal for beginner and advanced wind surfers, the beach offers flat bay and Gulf wave sailing.  Best wind direction is when coming from Southeast, South. For those who are into wave sailing,  the size of the swell starts working at 3 ft/1 m and holds up to 6 ft/2 m plus in high winds.

With schools and shops available on the area, this is a perfect place to enjoy the thrill of wind surfing, learn new tricks and meet new people. Best wind conditions for advanced surfers are usually during winter, from November to late April. Note that during weekends the beach is ultra crowded. Wind surfers should be careful of sharks and and high winds when sudden thunderstorms occur.
