Collaroy beach lies along the same section, even though Collaroy is a separate suburb. Narrabben beach is a long extended sand beach which provides with excellent surf and it has the right conditions for kite-surf. The swell size starts working at 3 ft-5 ft/1 m-1.5 m to 8 ft/2.5 m. The spot is appropriate for intermediate and more experienced kiters. The best wind direction is from the northeast and the southeast and the ideal swell direction is from the northeast.
In summer the wind blows offshore at 16%, in autumn the wind blows at 22%, in winter at 21% and in spring at 19%. Best months for kitesurfing are January, February, March, November and December. The average water temperature is about 21°C / 69.8°F. Narrabeen has a good area to launch and land your kite due to the size of the beach, however kiters should keep a distance, off people sunbathing and swimming. Watch out for a large shore break at the beach.
