If you feel thirsty for adrenaline, you should drink a cocktail, but don't get confused and run to a bar for a 'zombie' cocktail instead. The constituent you look for, you find it in kitesurf. It's a combination of wakeboard, surf, windsurf, paragliding and gymnastic. It gives you everything you want. Only if you try this extreme sport, you'll understand why it is so addictive.

But, you need the right spot! Don’t worry, because Costa da Caparica beach is ready for you. This place is located in Portugal, in the municipality of Almada, along the western coast of Setubal. It used to be a fishing village, but now it is one of the most known tourist destinations. The acacia and eucalyptus trees are waiting for you to walk under and enjoy the feeling. The beach of Costa da Caparica is the largest contiguous beach in Portugal and it’s about 30km/18mi. You can find an old Capuchin Monastery, on the cliff above the beach and  founded in 1558.

The beach provides the right conditions for kite-surf. The waves are regional classic with very consistent frequency (150 days/years) and a beach-break. The swell size starts working at less than 1 m / 3 ft and holds up to 2.5 m+ / 8 ft+. For the wind, southeast, east and northeast direction is the best and for swell the northwest, west, southwest and south direction.

The waves are powerful, fast and fun. In detail, in autumn, the waves swell size is from 1.3-2 m (4-6.5 ft) to 2-3 m (6.5-10 ft) and the wind blows offshore 25%. In spring, the waves swell size is from 1.3 to 3 m (4-10 ft) and the wind blows offshore 21%. In winter, we have waves with swell size from 2-3 m (6.5-10 ft), but sometimes the waves are >3 m (10 ft) and the wind blows offshore 36%. In summer, the wind blows offshore 4% and the waves swell size is 1.3-2 m (4-6.5 ft).

Kitesurf schools are near the spot, with experts at your disposal, in case you need someone to brush up your skills. Last, but not least, you can taste the food in the lovely restaurants, or drink a coffee and spend time with your friends. If you feel tired, there are accommodations where you can take a nap.
