Durban is a beautiful city and the biggest one in the KwaZulu - Natal. lt has an amazing coastline, diverse landscape with the most spectacular mountain range in South Africa. Climate is sub-tropical with warm wet summers, mild frost-free winters and all year round sunshine. Its amazing sandy beaches stretch into the Indian Ocean with water temperatures at 19°C/66.2°F even during winter.

 Durban is no doubt a surfer’s paradise!! Dairy Beach’s consistent wind directions, waves, and regular swells make it just perfect for a surfing adventure!!

Dairy Beach which forms part of the Golden Mile also hosts the world-renowned Mr Price Pro surfing championship. Surfing is open to both the novice and expert and is an all year activity due to the conducive weather, although the best months are considered to be May-June.

This spot offers world class wave quality with swells working at less than 1 m/3 ft holding up to 3 m/10 ft. South swells wrap around the piers and groynes which make up the coastline. When the tide is right, there are powerful, hollow beach-breaks. Best surfing time is within low to medium tides with light offshore winds. Things to consider are a few reefs including world class tube of cave rock.
