Trail length:
3mi/4,8km
Best hiking time:
During Spring
Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's apple cultivations.

The North trail of Douglas Creek Canyon is 3mi/4,8km long, out and back, about two and a half hours hike, with minimal elevation gain. The hike takes you through the Douglas Creek deep canyon, with fascinating views of the surrounding nature.

The canyon’s floor is like a real carpet of wildflowers, especially if you visit during spring season while the rock structures and water carvings reveal a long geological history. The creek has an abundance of water flow all year round, fueling the rich ecosystem of insects, birds, animals and plants.

The best time to hike this trail is all year round but extra caution is needed, when heavy rain showers occur. Douglas Creek Canyon is a great hike spot, suitable for all skill levels, in a desert looking scenery, different from the alpine nature of the Cascades.
