Mammoth Lakes is located near Mammoth Mountain, in California’s eastern Sierra about 100 mi/161 km south of Nevada State Line, 9 mi/14.5 km northwest of Mount Morrison, at an elevation of 7880 ft/2402 m, Mono County, California, USA.

Sierra offers sensational scenery that makes it ideal for bicycling. There are many trails of asphalt routes to choose from, pedaling around town and gearing to puff up Minaret Road to Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge, just to stop and enjoy the breathtaking vistas of Minaret and take a tour on US Highway 395.

There is a vast network of trails and unpaved roads in Inyo National Forest. Conditions may be surprising, as you can find different micro-climates from point to point. All kind of level bikers can try to ride, as there are trails for everyone. You can ride in more than 80 mi/128.75 km of groomed single trails, with lift access to the 11053 ft/3369 m summit.

At the entrance of the town, on State Highway 203 you can find California Welcome Center – Mammoth Lakes to purchase mountain biking trail maps and ask for information and route description.
