Silvermine is approximately 20 minutes drive from Cape Town and is the mecca for boulders. Characterized by easily accessible sandstone crags and over 2oo routes, climbing here is long single pitch climbs and range in difficulty.
It is graded at 13-31, with the easiest route at 14 and the hardest at 28, accomodating both the novice and the expert. Most of the routes profile is made up of vertical to slightly overhanging with a good ‘get your leg up overhang’ , steep wall and slab. Bouldering is an all year round activity with sunshine in the morning and shade in the afternoon.
The spot is open from 7am to 7pm during summer while winter it is open from 7am to 6pm. There is also an entrace fee unless you have a wild card.
