The metropolitan area of Adelaide is famous for the variety and great number of diving sites it has to offer (you can visit here some of the most impressive shipwrecks in the whole world). The waters have the perfect temperature for scuba diving (warm during the summer and crystal clear during the winter), and are generally friendly and uncrowded.

Broken Bottom, a popular site for divers of all levels, is a natural formation of rock piles, approximately 2 km/1 mi, offshore. Although usually fish population are scarce in the site, you will be awarded with the exceptional colours of sponges and flora, razor shells, sea tulips and spider crabs. Blue devils and rays can be found occasionally in the site.
