Garden Route is a popular stretch of the south-eastern coastline of South Africa. It is sandwitched between the Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains. It has a mild oceanic climate with mild to warm summers and mild to cool winters and considered second mildest climate after Hawaii according to the Guiness Book of Records.

Knysna is undoubtedly the Garden of Eden with indigenous forests, that make up the complex closed -canopy forest in South Africa. At almost 17 km/10.5 mi away from Knysna, there is an amazing obstacle 4×4 trail with a bypass at each obstacle.

The trail is open and accessible all year round and is graded between 2-4, covering a distance of 2 km/1.2 mi and lasting from 1-3 hours.  The terrain here mainly consists of indigenous forest, mud, water-hole and pole crossings and is a self drive route.

Although it is a year round activity, it is advisable to check in after heavy rains because the route might be closed due to extremely slippery surfaces.
