Qingdao is a modern city that perfectly preserves its past in China’s 20th century history. The Quingdao’s International Sailing Centre is enjoying first class Olympic facilities as this was the home of the 2008 Olympics.

The race course of Qingdao is considered one of the most notorious venues of the Extreme Sailing Series, as it is known for the vague kind of weather it can throw down. Sailors can expect anything from gales, flat calms, huge waves and sometimes fog. Northern winds are known to even capsize sailing boats. One thing is sure and this is challenge!

Fans can watch the action from the Race Village, located at Fushan Bay. Even though the teams will be racing on open water from the 29th, the Race Village opens for the public on the 30th of April when the racing will be moving inside the harbor race course taking the form of a sailing stadium. Entry to the Race Village is free.
