Almeria has a subtropical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and warm winters. It is one of the sunniest, warmest and driest places in Europe with low annually rainfall. Almeria has an average of 10 hours of sunshine everyday on summer months. The temperature is from 26°C  to 30°C/78.80 to 86°F during summer and 15°C to 19°C/59 to 66.20°F during winter.

You can explore plenty of routes, with different physical level, distance and difficulty. Visit natural park Cabo da Gata and neighbor Punta Polacra or San Jose. If you like the mountain terrain, exciting routes are Cerro Alfaro and Las Manicas all the way to Nijar. Another location is leaving the port, and through the mountains, to Suave, a trip with a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean sea.

Cycling in Almeria is very easy, you will love the quite streets (sometimes just deserted), the popularity of the sport, and of course the good surface roads. Moving around Almeria is safe, keep avoiding crowded areas, the traffic is low.

There is a a lot of cycling activity going on, like meetings (some annual), races, trips and events, plenty of  clubs, groups, training camps and teams. It’s a meeting point for European cyclists.
