Latok is a small cluster of dramatic rock peaks, belonging to the Panmah Muztagh and being a part of the central Karakoram range in Pakistan. The cluster lies in the east of the Ogre group which is dominated by Baintha Brakk.

Part of this beautiful ice and rock mixture setting is Latok II. This peak belongs to the Latok group and is one challenging destination for all rock climbers worldwide who wish to climb in some virgin, unexplored and unclimbed surfaces.

Latok II lies in the west face of the Latok group and was first climbed in 1977 by an Italian group, having climbed in the southeast face of the peak. This was in fact the first repeat ascent of any peaks in the group. Apart from the classical ascent on this massive rock, one natural phenomenon is there to urge your enthusiasm for climbing.

The Big Wall is a precipice steep rock of more than 70 degree angle and length of over 1 km/1093.6 yd. You will meet only 20 of these walls worldwide with Latok being one of them. If you listen to descriptions of climbers who already tasted the heartbeating ascent of Latok II, they describe it as a 1000 m/3280 ft vertical rock wall that has a base at 6100 m/20000 ft of elevation.

For the first climb the total vertical was 2200 m/7200 ft. If this numbers scares you but still intrigues you to conquer this notorious peak, you should get advise and guidance from one of the local schools, available to offer you their services.
