Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world and it is situated in Portugal. It is the capital and the largest city of the country, lying in the western Iberian Peninsula in the Atlantic Ocean and the River Tagus.

Near Lisbon, there is a great beach, where you can enjoy one of the most popular water sports, surfing. The beach is Fonte da Telha and it is not so easy to find. In order to reach the beach, you should either take a car or use the public transportation.

One of the things you should be very careful is to show respect to the local surfers or else things might get pretty ugly. With normal wave quality and regular break frequency, the place is suitable for all level of surfers. The type of the wave is beach-break and waves have good both right and lefts.

Its power is ordinary, disturbing the sandy bottom. On both normal and good days, the wave length ranges between 50 and 150 m/164 and 492 ft. The best conditions for the spot include wind that blows from the southeast and swell that comes from the west or southwest.

The swell starts working at 1 – 1.5 m/3 – 5 ft and holds up to 2.5+ m/8+ ft. The place works good only on low tides and the best tide movement is falling and rising tides. The spot is extremely popular, so it is crowded on weekdays and ultra crowded at weekends. Fonte da Telha guarantees good surfing, so don’t wait any longer and visit this beach as soon as possible!
