The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory, situated northwest of Jamaica and south of Cuba, in the western Caribbean Sea. The territory consists of three islands, the Grand Cayman, the Cayman Brac and the Little Cayman. George Town is the capital, located on Grand Cayman, the largest of the three islands. All of the islands enjoy a tropical marine climate, with hot summers and dry, cool winters.

This tropical island is not only a tax-free paradise, but also a diving paradise. Diving fans are able to witness a magnificent underwater world, with colorful coral formations, schools of fish, vertical walls, caves, and tunnels. The crystal clear water is warm and its average temperature varies from 78°F/25.5°C in winter up to 90°F/32.2°C in summer, providing great diving conditions all year round. Eagle Ray Pass is a wall dive, located on the north side of the island.

Divers, as the name of the spot suggests, frequently encounter eagle rays that swim along the walls. The dive site features a deep crevice or a pass in the wall, where you can enter and swim carefully down the wall. Here you can find groupers, moray eels, hard and soft corals and sponges to name just a few. The average depth here is 16 m/52.5 ft and the maximum depth is 30 m/98.4 ft. Once you exit the pass, you will swim along the wall and make your way back to the top of it, where you will finish this exciting dive.

The location can be dived all year round, but the ideal period is from April till October. Note that Eagle Ray Pass is suitable for experienced divers. Finally, the island offers many diving centers, where you can rent gear or book an organized dive. So, if you are a scuba diving enthusiast, you will definitely love Eagle Ray Pass!
