Puerto Rico is situated in the northeastern Caribbean and consists of an archipelago that includes the main island of Puerto Rico and a number of smaller islands. The climate here is classified as a tropical marine climate, with an average temperature of 82.4°F/ 28°C, throughout the year. Although it is a small island, the smallest island of the Greater Antilles, Puerto Rico provides superb natural surroundings, countless adventure experiences and many places of historical interest.

You can either lose yourself in the beauty of endless beaches, with the white sand and the clear, turquoise water, or enjoy one of the many activities offered. The Escambron Beach, which is also known as La Ocho, is a very popular beach and a great surfing spot, located close to San Juan, the capital city of the island.

It is a reef break with very consistent surf. Here you can explore the waves with swell sizes that can start from 1 m-1.5 m/3 ft-5 ft and hold up to 3 m/10 ft. The optimum wind direction is from the south, southeast and the best swell direction is from the north, northwest. The site accommodates both novice and advanced surfers. In addition, the ideal tide movement is rising tides and the best tide position is all tides. Keep in mind that it offers both left and right hand waves.

Escambron beach can get very crowded, especially during weekends. In summer months, it is also an excellent spot for diving and snorkeling. Last but not least, the beach provides a number of facilities, including a large parking area and a couple of kiosks.
