Progreso is a port city standing on the northwestern side of Yucatan Mexican state, in the east Mexico. It is also located north of Merida, the capital of the state and the largest city in Merida's municipality.

If you are looking for a place, where you can have great time performing kiteboarding, Las Dunas in Mexico is a great choice. This spot is located on the northern side of Merida, west of Progreso. The weather conditions are pretty good all year round with the most reliable winds. The wind speed ranges from 13 knots/24 kph to 25 knots/46.3 kph. The wind direction is coming from the North, Northeast, East, Southeast and Southwest. Southeast is the best wind direction for this spot.
