Dublin is the capital city of Ireland and it nestles at the mouth of the River Liffey. The climate here is classified as a maritime climate, with mild winters and cool summers. This vibrant city is noted as much for its Georgian buildings, museums, theaters and attractions, as for its leisure activities and adrenaline-fuelled adventures.

Dollymount is a long, sandy beach, that is located on the Bull Island, just 9 km/5.6 mi from Dublin. The location is very popular for the adrenaline sport enthusiasts, offering great sea breeze conditions for both the novice and advanced kite-surfers.

There is a designated launch area at the southern end of the beach, so there is plenty of space to take off even at high tide. The ideal period for visiting this spot is from April to November, but be aware that it can get very crowded with bathers, windsurfers and other kite-surfers. In addition, the optimum wind direction is from the south, southwest and the waves tend to be both right and left beach breakers. It is advisable to wear a kite leash. Last but not least, there are kite-surfing schools and rental shops, in case you need help or equipment.
